Any hurricane or tropical storm is something that should be taken seriously. Just because it isn't a category 5 doesn't mean there won't be damage - especially to those areas ernesto is projected to hit that still have damage from previous seasons, or are on the coast where there isn't much natural protection. As inland as Orlando is, we are still being told that we could get winds up to 75 mph and that they may have to evacuate our residence halls... that's something to be taken seriously. Fema is reacting now, because they are recognizing that they did make mistakes in NO and this is hopefully how they're going to handle hurricanes from now on - i applaud their actions, because more people need to recognize the seriousness of all storms during hurricane season.
that didn't mean to come out as a personal attack on you at all - i reread it and realized it sounded a little hostile, hehe... i just wanted to share my differing opinion
no, i understand. and i really understand why people are preparing, i'm really just pissed because fema's still taking their damn time in new orleans. that's my big issue, and i took it out on ernesto. but he's a bitch anyways.
