I didn't get to sit with Neenos and Bryn (his lovely g/f) but I went with Michelle, my cube neighbor, and her husband to the Barack Obama speech at the Coliseum. I thought it'd be a pep rally with some nice talks ( Read more... )

I'm impressed with what I've heard and seen of him so far. I'm kinda sad he canceled his Utah visit, but touched that he did it to honor President Hinckley.
I'm still not 100% decided on anyone, but Obama is at the top of my list so far.
My problem with politics in general is that everyone- EVERYONE is telling us exactly what they think we want to hear. Trusting that they'll follow through is a leap of faith. I can see in Hillary's every move that she is playing towards people's emotions and trying to win over their feelings and that bugs me. I'm not a defined Democrat or Republican, but I do know who I'm not voting for.

Just watched his SC victory speech... wow.
*chills*
I love that he doesn't say, "I will fix it," I love that he says "WE" so much. That he wants the American people to step up and help ourselves.
This man may be winning me over very quickly.

He's so nifty. Seeing him live blew my mind. I hope you go if you can the next time he talks in Utah.

Heh. Actually, I think he looks kinda goofy. If I was voting on hotness, the closest one would been a tie between John Edwards and Mitt Romney (despite Romney looking a lot like Guy Smiley, the muppet from "the Muppet Show")

I'd rather have Obama get the nomination over Hillary, I'll give you that! And if the Republican candidate I favor doesn't get the GOP nomination, I'd rather vote for Obama than the other GOP guy. I still can't bring myself to believe in any of the candidates fully, though. The mere fact that some of them sound too good to be true convinces me they are.

That's pretty much how I feel about politics in general. Why do you think I've never given money to a politician, until lately? B/c they all make me want to scrub with steel wool after listening to them.

I guess we'll see who McCain goes against, Hilary or Obama. If it's Clinton though, I'm going to have to start my research from scratch. I find both of them equally dishonest, which hurts as I was a McCain supporter when it was between him and Bush in 2000. But the McCain we see now isn't the same guy I approved of more back then.

I can only apologize for not replying sooner -- I'm pretty tired these days. But I also wanted to think about my response a bit as I'm kind of blurty.

As evidenced by my commentary on Sande's page. I don't know if it came across right, but my grumpy comment was more about Ann Coulter than any of the candidates themselves. Some of the things she says about people (vs about their politics) makes me cringe.

...Um, apparently my response was too long for my comments box. Would you be okay with giving me your email address so I might send it to you?
