Wow, it's funny, b/c I first started reading this post thinking, "well, they would think it's controversial b/c it's a Christian commercial, and they want to be P.C. and not exclude any other religions.
But this is just fascinating. Someone told me the media is too liberal, but the truth is they really just want to make whoever is in charge happy, so media corps can make more money. Hence the "Executive Branch" problem. But what happened to freedom of speech? Who cares what the president thinks? Isn't that the point of democracy? To be able to have different viewpoints and not worry about repercussions from our leader? Or was it really all about taxes?
Sorry- I'm taking this anthropology course on international relations, and this pretty much touches base on what we've been discussing. I get really interested in this stuff.

Yeah today in my Social Problems class we watched a Noam Chomsky movie about exactly that: how the media is controlled by corporations, which are all right-wing republicans. It's called "The Myth of the Liberal Media." It was good you should watch it.

Wow, go Noam Chomsky! Yeah, our class is basically about how corporations control, well, EVERYTHING. (Not quite, but still...) We read this book called "The Corporation" and it was really interesting...I mean, it was left-leaning obviously, but the last chapter was about how corporations are here to stay, but human agency can keep them from getting out of hand.
I recommend it. The author is from Boston, too. :D
