if you think about it, the teacher is right in a few ways... at least the way I interpret it. Facts can be changed? of course they can. A fact is any verifiable data. Data can be altered. Easily. Just look at our Government -_- A theory is a temporary fact? That one's a little more compliated, but I think I can see a little bit of a psuedo-realism in it. When an idea becomes a theory, it's something that people believe could be but also could NOT be... so it's a partial fact, or a temporary fact, if you will. As for fusion, it's entirely theoretical that fusion is an infinite power source, but it's not out the question. That all depends on if we could perfect it. But since we're horribly flawed human beings, we won't. :P the only option for the survival of the human race? hahaha! that one I don't agree with, because it's my idea that the human race WON'T survive -_- we're too damn stupid as a whole to survive. I bet God has a countdown timer for exactly how many years, months, days, and seconds we have left. :D

yeah... i admit the teach isnt completely wrong but hes not really right either and thats what bothers me
if i call something a fact and then the supporting data changes the original data was wrong and i was wrong to call it a fact.
but i do understand where he is coming from
just kinda bothers me

*poof*

it doesn't necessarily mean that the previous supporting data is wrong... it's also right, but from a different perspective. Don't you just love how some things can be so simple yet so complicated?
