That is so sad :( I hope you get to find something else there, but maybe there will be a new place you appreciate in the same way wherever you end up.
It is funny how there are spots that make us feel perfect like that. For me in college, there was this little stoop on one side of the dorms where I would hang out with some of my best friends. Maybe I can scan in a picture of it for you, but it always brings a smile to my face. One of my friends was from Baltimore (she's actually the person I credit with convincing me that this would be a good place to live), and she deemed it the stoop because she'd grown up on the stoops of Violetville. More than anything else, that idea of community space, where people hung out and chatted in the evening, made me want to live here. I don't think it is quite as idyllic as that, but it's still a nice dream.
