Bluebell pics

Now that spring is finally here, it's time for my obligatory annual bluebell post.

I took these photos yesterday - as usual the photos don't do the bluebells justice, but these two are the best of the bunch. If only there was a way of recording the scent. (I know I say that every year!)

That's beautiful. I love bluebells, and I know what you meant about the scent; it's a blue scent, so cool.

Bluebells are my favourite flower. I keep trying to find words to describe the scent, but the best I can come up with is clean and soapy!

Yes, the scent is wonderful - I could smell these bluebells long before I saw them :-)

Wow! They are SO beautiful! Just like a carpet of blue/purple, so delicate. Thanks for sharing!

I think a bluebell wood is one of the wonders of the world. I just love the contrast between the intense blue of the flowers and the pale green of the new leaves. I'm glad the carpet effect came across to you in the photo - that's what I tried to capture, but it's so difficult. It looks like there's a blue mist curling around the trees.

I can imagine the heavenly smell. I have no idea where a bluebell wood is near me. The forests tend to be mostly pine as well.

It's a shame you're not near bluebells. If you've got any National Trust properties near you they might have some. When I lived in York I could only find bluebells when I visited country estates that were open to the public.

I know - this is my favourite time of year. Shame it doesn't last long!
