Gardening question: I took two cuttings from Perdu's Rose (the boule de neige we planted over our dead cat) and one from my apple tree on Saturday. Dunked in rooting compound and potted. Was this a stupid thing to do, this time of year?

Nah, I reckon they'll be fine.

If it was the wrong time of year, then it won't work. What will you have lost? Nothing.

It'll be fine; they'll probably grow. Plenty of time.

Well, I have emotional attachment to the rose, is all.

Only slight problem is that both roses and apple trees tend to be grafted onto a more vigerous root stock than grown directly. See what happens - they might do well.

I want to get the rose to multiply, because of emotional attachment and a small amount of fear that I might kill it. So, we'll see.
