My top favorite TV episodes of all time... so far

Jul 11, 2011 22:51

There aren't that many episodes of television that have left me feeling awed, amazed, and generally stuck around in my memory for a long time afterward - but there are a few. I've been thinking about the best TV episodes I've ever seen in my life, the ones that are as close to perfect as I think is possible. These thoughts led to my decision to ( Read more... )

Massive YES to House's 'Three Stories'. I've seen that episode time and time again, and it never gets old.

Exactly! And every time I watch it, there's more to be gleaned from it, as well.

I live in Cardiff, where Dr Who is filmed and the day after this episode aired you could see people looking up very very warily to the many statues on the buildings in the city centre.

*stalks you from MM* >=D

I love everything about this entry. =D And Doctor Who! OH MY GOD. SO MUCH WIN. I love The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances. I adore Jack more than anything in the universe and I especially love him in season one of DW (of course, I adore Torchwood, so there's that, too) and I just love his relationship with the Doctor, and how he reacts to being abandoned at the end of the first season. And oh! The Doctor's Wife! I love that episode!! I totally was like THE DOCTOR IS IN LOVE WITH THE TARDIS. =D

Geordi was your first TV crush?! He was my first TV crush too!! *bounces happily* This is awesome! Also, DS9 is the best of all Star Trek. *nods* And Babylon 5! It just keeps getting better. Though, season 5 is less awesome than the rest of it, but still well done. Also, the TV movies. So awesome.

Oh God, I can't decide between a B5 icon or a DW icon! *frets*

Well, hello there, MM Stalker! :D

Yay, Doctor Who! I love it so. "The Doctor's Wife" might be my all-time favorite DW ep, although it would be awfully hard to pick just one.

And yay, Geordi! He's just so awesome.

Hee, don't worry, you can always comment again with a B5 icon if you want! :)

I know! It's so hard to pick just one favorite DW episode. I don't even know where I'd begin!

*brings the B5* =D And hey, while I'm here...*friends*

How far are you in B5? I'm assuming you haven't seen War Without End yet or else that would definitely be on here.

Farscape I can predict a handful that will likely make your list at some point in the future. I hesitate to tell you episode titles because I don't want to build you up like with The Body.

Star Trek TNG: The Inner Light. Period. The hands down most moving episode of any Trek ever. And I'm in the middle of a DS9 rewatch. And while that show is clearly the best Trek (and better than most television regardless of genre) it just doesn't have anything that hits me like that one did. I know most fans will also put original Trek's City on the Edge of Forever in the same category and if you don't know that one, get thee to Netflix Instant. It's amazing.

I had to go look up "War Without End" on IMDb since I didn't recognize it by title. I have seen it, I did really like it and was quite impressed by how well it fit in with the overarching story & with the earlier episode with Babylon 4 - but unfortunately, I find Sinclair to be such a black hole of woodenness and inability to act that he detracts from my overall enjoyment of any episode he's in. Sorry, Michael O'Hare. (We're in the middle of season 4 right now, by the way.)

I already know some Farscape episode titles that some fans really love, so I'm looking forward to those ones while hoping my expectations will be met/exceeded rather than overly built up. I'll be continuing to post my reactions to the show, for sure ( ... )
