I've read a lot of posts about the recent LJ censorship situation. I thought I'd throw my two cents into the fray and then return to my little cave in the hills. (No, it's not the same one that the AdultViggo ladies live in, but it's in the same neighborhood. *wink*)

I read the fineprint at Insane Journal when I signed up and it's the same bull as the LJ TOS. It might even be worse. Besides IJ has google ads and google has a strictly no porn policy. *g* (I think the owner whatever said he/she would chose the users over google, but we'll see about that).

Greatest Journal tosses people without no warning as well.

Journalfen seems to be the best option but the site is heavy handed.

I'm sticking with LJ. Basically it's just the same shit with a different name. IF we all jump ship, well the whackos that are pressuring LJ now will just start pressuring the new place. *shrugs*

I was pretty sure that the TOS of those sites would be essentially the same as here on lj...most internet sites have pretty much the same TOS. And I can't help but feel that if we were to jump ship, it would be an indication that the censors were successful in their mission to run us all "out of town" so to speak. It's nice to know that I won't be the only one staying here.

Thank you for this. I'm starting to get really worried that all the people in my fandom...and the numbers are dwindling as we speak, are going over to different sites and abandoning me! I'm glad that you're staying. I've been here for four years and I feel I'm just getting the feel of things, really. I've made my own mistakes on LJ and have paid for it dearly. I've done all I can do to rectify anything I've ever done to upset anyone, which is one of the reasons that I keep my mouth shut most of the time! *g*

It's good to see someone have a clear head about this entire mess. I'm with you, I don't condone censorship of any form, but just because you go somewhere else doesn't mean it's going to be any different there. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't know.

You're very special and I respect your opinion. I'm glad that you're not going anywhere. I'm afraid if you left, I'd have to follow you!

It does feel like our fandom's numbers have been dwindling, doesn't it? Maybe a lot of us just got quiet...at least that's what I hope has happened. I agree with you: "The devil you know is better than the devil you don't know." That is putting it very succinctly!!! Like I said in my reply to jey, I think that if we all jump ship we'll just be indicating to the censors that they won this round and I certainly don't want them to think they've won anything! I'm glad you'll still be here, too, Steph! If you left I'd just have to follow you, too! We Orlando-lovers need to stick together! *hugs* right back at you!
