He who hesitates gets no rhubarb pie. Very funny and poignant at the same time.

Rhubarb pie never last long, unfortunately. Thanks.

I've never had rhubarb pie either. Thankfully I'm not 45 yet. Anyway, great story! It really made me smile and their interaction is perfect.

Rhubarb is definitely a midwestern kind of thing. It's everywhere in season (and grows like a weed) though you have to wonder who was the first one to say: Hey, wonder what would happen if we cooked down that celery-looking plant with a shitload of sugar and put it in a pie?

I actually had those last lines before I had anything else.

I love the voices in this, especially House's "You're genetically incapable of not worrying."

And yeah, everything in Savannah has pralines in it in some form. :)

When I've been in that region, everyone tries to serve up pecans in some form. And they never seem to quite grasp that when I say I'm allergic that means that no ... I don't want any in any form.

Lol - love the last line :)

Lovely little slice of life but poignant at the same time - the fact that Wilson is dying is never far away.

pecan pancakes with pecan maple syrup and pecan whipped cream

Quit your whining Wilson,I'd happily eat that all day long :)

I don't know; sounds like overkill to me. Not to mention the fact that, I assume pecan pie is that American pie they're always on about, and I never thought pecan pie looked particularly appetising.

Just like I always looked Lemon Meringue Pie looked way too sweet, because they always pile WAY too much meringue on top.

I don't hate that pie -- my sister loves it, apparently -- but there is a limit.

There's a diner I went to once that advertises it has spoon high whipped cream on every pie. As in the full length of a spoon. Not the width. Talk about too sweet.

Thanks.
The pecan everything was actually inspired by the month I spent in Germany during asparagus (spargle) season. I love asparagus but by week three, I had reached my limit. "Oh, really? The soup of the day is spargle cream soup? Of course."
