OOC Prompt: By the Numbers: 2 Hands
Beneath the gloves his hands were soft and smooth, deceptively unsullied by his labours. A lifetime of working with his hands covered had made him dexterous and unusually sensitive. Sometimes alone in his room he would pull off the leather and walk around stroking familiar objects such as books and clothes. Urchin allowed him to pet her, and he marveled at the texture. His bare skin tingled when it came into contact so directly with the world. There were times he imagined what it would be like to touch another living person, even their hand or a stroke on their face. It was a hesitant thought, as dark and secret to him as other young men’s thoughts of touching themselves. What he lusted for was simple human contact, but every day he put on the gloves again and denied the touch.
