I just watched the speech and got chills. The man can give a speech!

The line "We will restore science to its rightful place" made me happy.

I didn't / don't want to get too emotionally attached to him -- he's a politician, after all. At the very least, though, maybe we can now go back to expecting our presidential candidates to act and speak presidentially, in the style of someone who can form a parallel structure in a speech and use rhetorical devices. I'm so tired of having Mr. Magoo as my president.

For me, it's just that the President of the United States, for the first time perhaps since the first President Bush, is tasking us with taking personal responsibility for the state of the country.
