I really am not sure where to start this letter. I want to say so many things; how are you? Are you alright? Why?
But I decided to leave the worrying to your family. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to quite express the fear that went through me Wednesday morning when I found my invisibility cloak missing from my trunk. It wouldn’t have been a big deal - but you were missing too. I demanded answers.
Sirius was the one who told me, and I don’t think I’ve ever been more stunned in my life. I can only imagine what you, your parents and your grandparents are going through. It was a trap, Sirius said; don’t you ever blame yourself, do you understand? I will punch you in the nose if you do.
I’m not much of a liar, so when I write this and you read it? Know that it is true. I don’t care what you are. Life is going to be difficult for a while, people don’t understand. You can only keep a secret for so long. But you’re my best friend, first and foremost. And I’m always going to be there for you, I promise.
I would really like to come by when I’m allowed; I’d like to see you and be able to talk face-to-face since there’s only so much that quill and parchment can say for me, and I personally think it’d do you good to see a friend.
Whatever happens, Scorpius, I’m you friend. Got it?

Mrs. Malfoy,
My name is Albus Severus Potter, I am a first year student at Hogwarts in Slytherin House and a classmate of your son, Scorpius. I would like to offer my condolences on the situation; Scorpius is my best friend at Hogwarts and I’m angry, upset and frustrated so I can only imagine what you, his mother, must be feeling.
I don’t envy the situation in the least and I understand that with things as they are you probably want privacy for your son and will likely be spending some time together as a stricken family. I would like to though, please, request that I be allowed to visit when things settle down some. I worry about my friend and it could do him some good to eventually see me.
I’d also like to apologize, personally, and let you know I blame myself a bit. I’m not going to abandon my best friend, Mrs. Malfoy.
