Sadly, I've come to the realization that I don't really have close friends. I know a lot of people, I'm friends with most. While they all love to hang out and I enjoy seeing them once in awhile, none of them have proven to be the kind of long term friends that it seems like everyone has. wow, the whole first paragraph pretty much describes me in a nutshell. in fact, i don't think i could have worded it any better. it's sucky, but you know what? once you're finally married that will all change (not to sound like a cheeseball, but it's true.) i have friends (none of whom really hang out with me much and it's probably because i don't like clubs and dirty places ... i like dorky fun like movies and the rocky's arcade.) my best friend is probably my boyfriend alex, and because we live together i don't have those moments where i'm stuck going ... i finally have free time, now who do i spend it with? we're always together at home in our free time, making dinner or renting a movie

maybe it makes me sound old, but i like being this way and being domestic. it's comfortable. :)

p.s. is your wedding in january?

natalie, i knew i liked you! yeah, pauls my best friend too, and it sucks that i never get to see him you know? nah, the weddings next october but he'll be back in the states in january which will work out much better. i mean, i won't be able to see him all the time cuz he'll be in d.c. but weekends will be easier to swing

It's hard cait..I know it is. Fortunatly I did develope a few lasting friendships while I was in college, but honestly I think the key was making friend with people outside of the sorority and greek life. Actually picking people for who they are not their proximity to me...does that make sense. When I met Dawn I knew we were going to be friends for a very long time, and when it was another year before she joined the chapter. I have a few friends from the sorority that I'll try to keep in my life forever, but they aren't that "go to friend" know what I mean? Doesn't make them any less valuable, just a different type of friend. But honestly I think that's the key. I chose the people I'm closest with outside of the confines of codes and oaths (not that I don't love our Oath with all my heart, but you know what I mean). I don't know if any of this makes any sense, but I hope it does. And I'm sure I'm one of those friends that you were talking about...maybe not specifically me since I am 500 miles away, but I am one of those

I totally understand what you're saying and I agree whole heartedly. It seems as though the longest lasting friendships are perhaps those that didn't seem so obvious. Like, our sisters are wonderful, I love seeing them, but I'm not into the college party scene. I wish you were here! Jen, I know that you're one of the people I can count on. If I ever needed to talk, President or not, you'd listen whole heartedly, granted, if you're not busy kicking ass in grad school! Girl you're so busy I don't know how you're doing it! Did I hear you're coming to Orlando soon? PLEASE keep me updated, so we can go have a drinky drink, but not drunk, cuz you know I'm a good girl. OOh, except that one time you drove my drunk ass home from Jon Kresses, what was that about? lol. I love you girl, hope you're having tons of fun in your new life :)

I don't know if I'd say I'm having fun...but I'm doing my best to kick some ass! I'll be "home" the 21st-23rd. Dawn and I are getting a group to go down town on Friday night so you are totally invited. Some people are going to halloween horror nights on Saturday too if you are interested. I should get in town mid-day on Friday and I'm staying until as late as possible on Sunday. I'll be staying at Sean's but I'll habve my car so I can do lunches or whatever. I'll do my best to remember to call you, but don't be shy about calling me if you haven't heard from me by say 9 on Friday night. Can't wait! Later babe!
