She told him that it was ridiculous to keep him from staying because she'd prefer me having sex in my own bedroom, safe, then in the back of a car on a road somewhere

Seriously, kids will fuck no matter what and I cannot tell you how many dark abandoned creepy roads I parked on when I was a teen.

But seriously, A+ to this point. It is so, SO much better to let your children make safe, informed decisions than it is to repress them until they freak out and up with pregnant four times before twenty.

I've always thought so. Growing up I could never believe the freakouts that my peers had to deal with with their families. I still see ridiculous approaches to teens having sex around me. Paul's mom would never call it sex, and obliquely referred to it as "talking", wouldn't even come out and talk about it like an adult. She recently had a freak out on Pauls little sister that the girl had sex without parental permission. Parental permission? That is creepy as fuck. No sex ed in my area either. Most of the female portion of my graduating class had dropped out due to pregnancy. Meh. Well, you know, you live in the south >_< damn bible belt.

Aww thank you. It's just that it hits me every once in a while how lucky I was. While my family might have some awful hangups in some places, there are people who had it a hell of a lot worse or certainly more oppressive and are still working out the affect it had on their lives, and it's always the most ridiculous shit.
