or maybe her priorities don't mesh with yours? She never uses paper towels, and while the jewelry is sentimental, she never wears it, so it's mostly useless.... and she likes hamburgers. and this might be her one splurge of the year. And the SUV she might use because she works on the staff of a construction company and has to go on-site.

It’s entirely possible her priorities don't align, probable in fact. However, if she is complaining about having to do these things, I'd assume that these are not changes she wished to make in her life. However, I must agree it was quite clear she enjoyed hamburgers, heh. And of course there are reasons to own an SUV. (GM would be in a lot more trouble if there wasn't...) However many SUV owners never actually *need* them, or would be far better served by owning a much smaller car, then renting when you needed one.

do they teach something like 'financial responsibility for life after school' in high school? like "a bag of rice is your friend." and "you can use toilet paper as klinex, but not the other way around because it will clog the toilet."
