In this day and age, it is ok to come out of the closet. Just stand up and yell "I'm a Libertarian and I'm proud!"

Ah, but you see - I'm not a Libertarian.

I believe with Abraham Lincoln that "[t]he legitimate object of government is to do for a community of people whatever they need to have done, but can not do at all, or can not so well do, for themselves in their separate, and individual capacities."

We can certainly argue over whether X or Y is something the government ought to be doing, but I don't believe in the ultimate minimalism that Libertarians endorse. That way lies madness and ruin.

Odd that you quoted a Republican there. ;-)

The minimalism is the extreme party position, similar to the socialism of the extreme democrats or the fascism of the extreme republicans.
