why my kids are awesome

so I was teaching the kids how to say things like "good", "excellent", "cool", etc when teaching them "What do you think of ?" Next I brought out some food and taught them "yummy." When I took out cheese none of the kids liked it so I taught them "not yummy." Turns out some of the kids thought "not yummy" was the opposite of good. See the following ( Read more... )

Reminds me of the first few chapters in Japanese class. When we learned our first set of adjectives, "ii=good" stood out as the easiest one to remember, so for quite a while, the answer to any question requiring an adjective was "ii desu!" What do you think of the weather? "Ii desu!" How do you like pizza? "Ii desu!" Did you hear about the terrorist bombings in New York? "Um... ii desu ka?"

"not yummy?" Who says that? "Yucky!" Only the mi changes to ki, which should be easy enough for them.
