I think that's probably the case... that the drones here used to be normal people.

I'm almost certain, myself. It makes too much sense.

The Mayor and Grady definitely have something to do with it. I'm just not sure what.

The ones who control our abilities at will are also the ones that torment us... here, in the face of people that must be stopped, fighting has been rendered more pointless than ever. It's ironic.

People are starting to think that the drones were once people, yes.

Then we can hope that they still are. That they can be freed.

...Yeah. I mean, even though it's kind of ridiculous, the local high school nominated me to wear their mascot suit. I hate it, but it's the least I can do for them.

What kind of suit, exactly?

Suddenly? The fight when I was freed from Hokkai was just a misunderstanding, Marisa.

And I thought there were no hard feelings... all I can say is that I apologize for rushing to judgment. I hadn't realized what Gensokyo was like after having been locked away for so long.

They're truly pitiable.

Though one could easily say that is but their lot in life... their "fate".

I don't know about that. What happens to a person is mostly the result of their actions and the actions of others. I don't think the cruelty of the people in power in this town can be called "fate."

. . . Sometimes, people who get droned permanently actually go home, you know. Maybe it was that way for your friend.

Is that so? Do they snap out of it when they're returned to their worlds?

Sometimes they come back and say they've spent years and years at home, or maybe only just a week. But their drone stays here and it seems like they're fine at home.
