Summer Hyoutei Close-Up - Zukkii x Adachi x Kotani
Thanks to everyone who's commented on the recent entries. ^_^ This is weird, but it looks like I'm almost exactly half way through the Official Site interviews...which is sad, really, because they're so interesting. But I'm sure I'll be able to find other things about the second cast members, anyway. ^_~

――Well then, first, impressions of Dream Live 2nd from you...
Adachi:If I've already had self-confidence doing this in front of six thousand people, I won't be scared anymore to do it in front of 100 people, so it gave me that sort of confidence. It was definitely a good feeling!Kotani:As for me, before I stood on the stage I was nervous, but really, when I stood on it, more than nervousness, there was excitement! A “Watch me!” state. *grin* It was really a good feeling.Zukkii:Me too, if I say my biggest impression, it's “It was fun!” I'm consumed by that. For me, too, I was definitely nervous before I came out, but when I came out, in a flash, in my field of vision there was a world spread out that I hadn't experienced until then! Many thousands of people were there, pen lights were shining. The moment I saw that, “Wow!” and I smiled usually from then on. *grin* The significance was that I wasn't nervous, but from the time the opening dance ended, I was the one with the first speech. There, I was nervous, as I expected. It came out, didn't it! Dancing and panting, “(shrilly) Everyone~!!” Damn, my voice was too high!” *grin*Adachi:This time, the show was only on one day. For the Yamabuki performance, I was incredibly moved at the end and I cried, but since this time was short, I didn't think I'd cry. But in the second act, as Endou-san's farewell speech grew closer, tears really came forth. In the little parts of the show, too, when everyone gathered and said “Let's do our best!” and ran out, it really made me cry. It became a very good memory.Kotani:There was Yuuyan's graduation, too; a lot of emotion entered when we sang the last ballad, “Crystal.” And then, “Kore ga Seigaku Regular-jin na no da!” became one of the highlights of the show, didn't it? In the middle of it, I was the only one who was nervous about what to do if there was no applause... *grin* But we were given incredibly warm encouragement, and I was really happy.
――Suzuki-kun, how was your singing?
Kotani:I think...it was good.Zukkii:I was given a rather good evaluation by everyone around me, so, ah, I thought it was good, but...no, well...I still have a long way to go, though.Kotani:No, it was good! But when we watched the “Side Yamabuki” DVD...Zukkii:Ah, that DVD - For my part, it was only noise. *grin*Kotani:This time, there are a lot of songs that Zukkii starts to sing, so...Zukkii:Right! This time in Dream Live it was a “Beginning” series for me!Kotani:Everyone is going to make everyone an opposite confirmation, when they hear Zukkii start to sing. “Oh! He's good today!” *grin*Zukkii:Speaking of that, this is something from when I was rehearsing in the practice room, but, for example, when the Yamabuki team was practicing, we couldn't use the practice room. So we each practiced in various other places, but I went outside the emergency exit door so I could practice singing alone.Adachi:So you could practice “singing,” huh? *grin*Zukkii:I practiced “singing,” but~ complaints came from the lower floor, saying, “Excuse me, someone's shouting outside...” *grin*Kotani:Ah! Zukkii:At first we really couldn't believe it... Until then, Yuuyan had definitely become our axis, and it was lonely...Adachi:I've talked a lot with Endou-san since the musical started, but during the musical, the times I usually hung out with him were completely different. When we were going home after rehearsal was over, too, Echizen Ryouma's Endou-san was definitely with me somewhere. Since he graduated, I still talk to Endou-san, but he's really a different person... Endou-san himself, too, his character is completely different from Ryouma's, so he said it was difficult, but he's really a completely different person. In his reticence and his coolness...he achieved the character of Ryouma, which was completely different from himself, and when Endou-san made comments, I was left with a great impression; he's definitely a great senpai. He's a person to admire.Zukkii:When Yuuyan comes into the practice room, the atmosphere really changes, doesn't it? Somehow or other we became tighter, our concentration increased. To be able to do things together with Yuuyan was great, and I'm grateful to him.
――Since the concert ended, how have you passed your time?
Kotani:Since the concert ended, I've been doing lots of soap operas, and I appeared in a drama called “Kosume no Mahou 2”[1] on TBS.Zukkii:For me and Adaachin, it's been basically lessons. Fundamentals of acting lessons, voice training, and then there were fan club events for our office [2], and we rehearsed for those. Then, we gathered with the Seigaku members. We did a thing like training camp...Kotani:It was awesome, wasn't it, the mood. It was a boys' school again! Everyone was so young, the energy was incredible. During the day we had tennis practice, but at night, too, we were energetic *grin*Zukkii:It was energetic, wasn't it~ *grin*Kotani:Well, everyone's been together for more than a year, so we don't take anything into consideration; we have various arguments, too. More than before, the Seigaku members don't make mistakes, our unity has become firm, and we were able to have good team work.Zukkii:We were also able to reaffirm the depth of everyone's feelings.Kotani:Because when we were talking, Aiba-kun was crying, right? Saying “I want to play Fuji!”Zukkii:Seeing that, everyone said, “Ah, that guy's passionate, isn't he?”Kotani:Saying, “He really thinks about it, doesn't he?”Zukkii:We were able to feel the strength of everyone's emotions toward Tenimyu, and that was incredibly good, I felt.

Kotani:Until this it's always been Shirota-kun who's gotten us settled, but Araki-kun and Zukkii and I are in our 20s and older than everyone else; we talked amongst the three of us and said, from now on we should take care of everyone, right? Because on top of that, Zukkii's Oishi-fukubuchou! The things that Zukkii can't do, I'll do, and Arakicchi is there, and if we do it that way, it'll be good.Zukkii:But...our ability to take care of others is nonexistent. *grin*Kotani:We're doing our best!Adachi:Well, Zukkii and Kotani-san, they're the two who cause the trouble...Kotani:What what what, what are you saying, Adaachin?Adachi:These two are the ones who start to act violently in the room, too...Zukkii:That's...wrong!Kotani:Hang on! Zukkii:This time is a new start; Endou Yuuya, who did his best anew, has graduated; Yanagi is returning, and it's a show that's become a new start for the new Seigaku. Furthermore the opponents are the champions, Hyoutei Gakuen! It's become a show where our true worth is questioned with a lot of significance, hasn't it?Adachi:In the Yamabuki performance and Dream Live, I thought, “I ought to create my own Kikumaru!” and that was my battle with myself, but when the Hyoutei performance was decided for this time, right away I thought, “I don't want to lose to Gakuto!!”Kotani:Oh!!Zukkii:It came out, ne~!Adachi:"No matter who he is, I don't want to lose to the person who plays the character Gakuto!" I thought. But actually, hearing that he was incredibly talented at acrobatics...it was a little...well...Kotani:No, no, wait, wait! You're doing your best at that! Right? *grin*Adachi:So I thought I should try harder. “I definitely won't lose! And I won't be friends with him!”Zukkii:Nn?Kotani:It went that far? *grin*Adachi:I'm a child, huh? *grin* Well, I should have rather aggressive feelings, right?Kotani:Reading the original work, I thought that Taka-san in the Hyoutei arc was really awesome! Just to be able to perform the Hyoutei match, to be able to appear in it, I was really happy; it was the happiness of a high spirited person, “Hurrah!” And now that we're doing it, a while ago, Adaachin said “I won't lose to Gakuto!” but me, too, I thought I will definitely not lose to Kabaji! Really, isn't Taka-san's virtue a fully loaded condition? I was truly happy to be able to do that competition scene.Adachi:I like Kikumaru's lines during the Hyoutei arc! The things Kikumaru says, Oishi not being able to appear, and the words that come out when I have to fill Oishi's role-I really like the lines, so this time, I truly want to make people cry with my lines. My objective this time is that I want to get to the heart of the lines.Zukkii:For the Hyoutei match, everyone is truly dramatic. Eiji shows a rather adult-like side, Taka-san fights a match for the sake of his self-pride, various human relationships and backgrounds are seen. Akutsu's actor JURI-kun said this for the Yamabuki performance, but in the original work it's already decided who will lose, but we say, “I will do this with the intention to absolutely not lose.” I feel the meaning of those words can change.Adachi:Because there are things in this performance that haven't been seen before, right?Kotani:It's because this time is the first time we're there as senpais, right?[3]Zukkii:This time, well, it's good that everyone is doing things with a feeling of, “I'm the best!”Adachi:That's right. With the results from having already reread the original work once, I'm building the role from scratch and making new discoveries, and if I can play Kikumaru having adopted them, it's good, isn't it? At the time of the concert, too, I was given feedback like, “You got good,” and “It was a completely different Kikumaru than for the Yamabuki performance, wasn't it?” so as my personal goal, I have that people won't say “Adachi's Kikumaru,” but that Kikumaru changes in various ways!Kotani:This time, with the Hyoutei match, where we're concerned, it's really a contest. Bit by bit, our fighting spirit is really setting in.
