The Basics
Name: Melissa Danele "Mippa" Johnson
Age: 23
Describe the meaning or significance in your username: It is the pet name my parents gave me when I was a kid. It died out until around high school, and suddenly after I mentioned it one day, people started calling me "Mippa" again and it stuck. Sounds cute, don't you think? ^^*
Favorite color: Purple, pink, and soft greens.
Do you give orders or simple follow what's given to you? I usually prefer to follow orders, because I can be a bit lazy or uncertain about a situation, and would rather have someone else take the responsibility. But sometimes I am not thinking and can get bossy at inappropriate times. @.@ It usually blows up in my face later, so I try to keep to the follow orders, especially since I am in big, scary Tokyo and usually don't know what the heck I am doing.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Depends on my mood that day. @.@ Usually half-full, though! But that can quickly change if something happens at work or with a friend or family member. >.<
Your favourite drink is? Iced tea with lemon, bubble tea, and alchoholic: any kind of fruity drink, except melon-flavored. XP
Smoking. Yes or no? Never. @.@

Scraping the Surface
What are your interests? Karaoke, jpop, movies, animation, dining, kitties!
What are your pet peeves? Girls (or guys!) wearing too little clothing, people taking up two seats on the subway, cheapskates...
What are your hobbies? Special talents? Karaoke, cooking, dining, exercising (mostly for vanity's sake...), shopping, translating, taking care of kittens (yes that is a hobby! T.T), animation, reading, writing when I have time...
Your strengths lie in… and why? Well, I am definitely a people person. I am one of those glue-types. You know, even if your friends don't know each other, they all know you and therefore they have that common factor? I seem to lead an interesting life according to some people, and I have a contagious energy and a talent for making people feel important. I am such a great person for throwing parties (when everyone isn't busy), and public relations is a knack of mine! It's not what you know, it's who you know.
Your weaknesses are… and why? ...though if I slip, I can do a real good job of making someone feel like the lowest of the low, too. That makes me feel horrible. I am prone to freaking out over small things simply because I have no idea how to handle it (I am living on my own for the first time away from my parents in Texas--and I have moved to the middle of West Tokyo! Seriously.) I am extremely dependent emotionally, though I have a short attention span, I can get sick of my boyfriends at times and wind up hurting them. I am also very fickle and indecisive, and sometimes I don't like stepping up and making a decision. Oh. And I have an awful temper when I lose it. Awful. I cry like a toddler. Did I mention I am stubborn as all get-out?

Digging a little Deeper
Who do you admire (whether it be fictitious or real life) and why? My Daddy. Wow, I could go on for hours as to why I love him so much and admire him. He is a hard worker, thick-skinned, has been through a ton of emotional abuse from my mother's side of the family, and yet through it all has remained loyal and loving to my mother (although he has a temper) and doesn't get the respect he deserves from my siblings. Needless to say I am a Daddy's girl to the core, and if you want a guaranteed way for me to cry, if Daddy cries, I'm going to lose it.
What do you look for in a friend and why? Honesty and loyalty. I have to say that I have had several friends that have served only as yes people, because I can be really stubborn when I have made my mind up about something. So I need someone who has the guts to tell me how it really is. I also look for someone who is more confident than I am, because usually if they aren't, they are either envious, jealous, or competing with me. (Referring to girls, I mean. If they are guys, they always wind up wanting to date me it seems, because "I make them feel good about themselves.")
If you were in a rock band, which position would you play and why? Vocalist, for sure! Though it would have to be a pop band. I cannot do rock. @.@ My voice is too bubblegum/Broadway.
How would your ideal room/apartment look like and why? Soft, elegant, but trendy and edgy. Lots and lots of sunshine, and plenty of space for a kitten or two! Most important: a good kitchen and bathroom!
If you were a piece of jewelry what would you be and why? Either a ring or earrings. A ring can really tell you a lot about someone, and I don't leave the apartment without my class ring and the ring my American boyfriend gave me from when he visited London. Earrings were my first pick because I cannot leave home without wearing earrings, lest I look like a boy. @.@

From the Manga
Who is your favorite character and why? Wow, this is a toughie. I am so in love with O. Nana, but I relate the most to Hachi...and yet I really thought Nobu was cute, too! (Though, admittedly, I saw the movie before ever reading the manga or watching the anime, so I really liked Nobu from the movie...) Ack! I cannot forget Yasu! and Junko! Uwah! I love them all!!!
Who is your least favorite character and why? Admittedly, I don't have a least favorite character. Everyone is wonderful, though, having a Shouji or two (or three) in my life, as well as Sachiko's, I would have to say they are my least favorites--though I thought Sachiko was extremely well-done as the "other woman."
Your favorite pairing? And why? Oh wow, wow...mmn...I don't really have one at the moment, though Nana and Ren just tugs at my heart a special way...I am sure it will change with the dawn, though.
Your favorite relationship? And why? I love, love, love the relationship between O. Nana and Hachi--it is actually the first female friendship story I have nearly cried over since Puchi Puri Yucie. To think that two girls could be so close like that just makes me wish for that, too...

Et Cetera
Where did you hear about us from? I just did a general search for Nana communities! (I guess I was bored one day...)
Anything else you'd like to add? Thanks everyone for voting! Heehee, I actually first got into NANA when I saw the movie in theaters back in October...so I am a relatively new fan!
