The Basics
Name: Angelique, Angel, whichever floats your boat.
Age: 16
Describe the meaning or significance in your username: It was honestly quite a random thing. I'd wanted to join winx_club, but then I realized that I needed to join this site, so I thought of some of my favorite words. I love the word "shimmer" and "shimmering"- it makes me think of silk, and fairies, and magic! And I like angels. ^-^ shimmeringangel sounded tacky and a bit unoriginal, so I switched it up and came up with this! Which I'm rather fond of.
Favorite color: I love sky blue. Not the crayon color, mind you, but the actual entire spectrum in the sky. I love the wide range of blue that exists- it cannot be captured!
Do you give orders or simple follow what's given to you?
I am a mix of both. In a social situation or in an environment when I am fully aware of what I am doing, I definitely take the lead. I don't appreciate it when someone tries to patronize me or boss me around, and I will get confrontational if someone treats me that way. However, if I am in an unfamiliar situation (say, gymnastics), I do take the route of the follower, and will even be a bit meek. This does nothing for my ego, and I'm usually extremely embarrassed to be following. I prefer to be the one giving direction, not taking it.

Scraping the Surface
What are your interests?
That's like asking me who my favorite person is! (Impossible to name them all)
But I digress, and shall attempt to name some of the major things I enjoy.
- Music, Writing, and Art are my top three loves of things to do. You will often find me sitting at my piano creating impromptu compositions, but I also love to play classical music as well as Disney and Musical stuff. Writing is one of my passions, and I aim to someday write something memorable. As for art? Anyone who knows me can tell you that it is one of my favorite hobbies, and something I love to do very much. I made my mood theme, most of my icons, and, well, I love my Photoshop CS quite a bit! <3
- I love anything that has energy and life. I love to spend time with little kids, running around, because they don't know the meaning of apathy- they never get down! Optimism feeds my soul.
- As for nature, I love warmth and color of all kinds. The more vibrant the spectrum, the better! Unless it's about animals. My two favorite animals are both grey! ^o^
-As for TV shows and manga and such, I am quite a fan of the Winx Club, as well as Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew, Ashita no Nadja, CardCaptor Sakura, Ouran High School Host Club, Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z, and the like.
- My favorite genre of literature runs in the historical fiction area, as well as fantasy. I am not a hardcore fantasy buff, but I do very much enjoy reading about fairies (obviously)! I love historical fiction because I can relate to the characters, and live in their times vicariously, and have a blast while I'm there!
- Music is amazing. In this case, I'm talking about listening, rather than playing. I love classical music- there's always such a beat to it, and the story behind it just captivates me. Debussy is <33. He paints pictures with his notes! I also love Rock and Pop, and just about anything on the radio. ^-^
What are your pet peeves?
Above EVERYTHING else, I despise apathy and ignorance.
I'll start with apathy.
How can you live without conviction? How can you have no aims in life? No goals? No passions? I don't understand how anyone can go through life without ANYTHING driving them at all. To just sit there and go, "Oh well..." when something passes them by is something I cannot understand. While I am mostly a thinker, and not an overly emotional person, (I dislike extremely dramatic people for their overblown displays), I cannot conceive how you can go through life that way.
It makes me shudder.
Now, for ignorance. Pet peeve number 2. I cannot stand people who purposely stay ignorant, stay in their shells so they can cling to their stereotypical ideals and spew them to the rest of the world. They make crude jokes that aren't funny, and they don't even know why. They'll joke about the stupidest things and believe that they're brilliant. They don't read rules, and they get pissed off when you point out their mistakes (politely). Gaaaah. I could go on and on, but I believe you get my point. One of the few things that makes me confrontational.
Other things= manipulative people and just about all insects.
What are your hobbies? Special talents?
My hobbies? They're writing, music, and computer graphics. I'm also on the tennis team, as well as many extracurricular activities!
As for talents, my scholastic abilities, for sure- as well as my friendliness and ridiculous optimism-I even smile when I'm sad. I also have a talent for writing, which I do prolifically. I also am quite proficient at the piano, and can often be found composing music that comes out of the air.
Your strengths lie in… and why?
I am very intelligent. I'm at the top of my class and I love it! ^-^ I try not tolet it get to my head though; I am down to earth about it. I am open-minded and very friendly. If I see someone sitting alone at a lunch table, you can be sure that I will get them over to my table. I am a good listener, and even though I like to talk, I can tell when I need to be the one with the ears and not the mouth. I'm creative and musical; I love creating computer graphics, and I am very fond of improv music. I have a nice voice, and I love to sing. (And I'm good at it! ^o^) I am optimistic and bubbly, and I will always try to cheer you up.
Your weaknesses are… and why?
I am very stubborn and adamant; I hate to admit that I am wrong, and I dislike asking for help. Even when I'm sinking, I don't generally like to reach out to anyone until the last moment, as I want to see if I can do it. This also may have something to do with the fact that at this moment in time, I don't like to take up more of my speck of place on earth, and I don't like to bug people. I'll do that when I'm older and famous and stuff. xD I'm also lazy and a big procrastinator- I tend not to worry until the ultimate pressure comes, when I go into hyperdrive. I'm also quite clumsy, and suffer a major lack of common sense.
Digging a little Deeper
Who do you admire (whether it be fictitious or real life) and why?
I really admire Audrey Hepburn for her grace and elegance. She really was a very gracious person! I also admire Mahatma Gandhi- he had such an impact on the world- he had a lot more tenacity and courage than I believe I possess.
What do you look for in a friend and why?
I'm always searching for someone who can make me laugh, be a good listener, and who shares my interests. Someone who's open-minded, not afraid of anything, and willing to be as crazy as myself! Someone who will understand if I want to go to sleep instead of go out and tp someone's house. Someone who will eat animal crackers in yogurt. (These are requirements for a best friend; for a friend, my only requirements are that they are open-minded and NOT WHINY)
If you were in a rock band, which position would you play and why?
I'd want to be the lead singer- I feel that in that position, I could take in all of of the music, the frenzy of the audience, and just absorb it all.
And I like attention. :)
How would your ideal room/apartment look like and why?
However large it is, it has to have lots of windows and light. <3
If you were a piece of jewelry what would you be and why?
Me? Hm, I don't know. ^-^; I never thought about it. Something flashy yet subtle.

(I'm honestly not very aquainted with the manga, I've only seen some episodes of the anime and the Live Action film, so I'm a bit behind)
Who is your favorite character and why? Nana O.'s independent spirit is something I admire, but I often want to hug Hachi. x)
Who is your least favorite character and why? Sachiko bugs the hell out of me. You don't just steal someone's boyfriend. -_-
