In which it half-snows, the snow half-melts, and we go to a ski slope near Łódź.
17th February, the temperature drops to -5 for the first time in two weeks.
Windshield.
Uh, yeah, and the thermometer on the road to town breaks.
The house.
Sunday 18th February, Kamińsk. About an hour out of Łódź is a ski slope, Kamińsk, which is still open, even though there’s no snow. I drove out with Tata, Marysia, Ania and Sławek (neighbours) to see what it was like. We caught the lift to the top and wandered down, then had dinner. Beautiful weather - clear skies, crisp air, wonderful light. Just a magical few hours, quiet and lovely.
Random other people visiting the non-ski-able slope.
On the lift…
View from the top… with really nice lighting.
View to the right and left of the slope: random forested areas and the power station whose owners also own the slope. Nice.
Father #1.
Oh yeah, it was really windy up there.
How fantastic are those shadows?
Wandering; and Pan Sławek, posing.
My father looked rather interesting and lost wandering down this slope.
Sławek; and a line of people, two not belonging to our party.

Heading towards Mecca the bar and restaurant.
Coke and beer advertisements, old school.
And because they don’t fit anywhere else, either - photos from the 19th:
