Yes, it Funi-crap dubbing but it also seemed like they had alot of yellow when they made the anime at least for this ep. Alot of red as well. *counts* blonde, blonde, blonde, red water, red gems, more red gems... It's a style of anime I like though, but as I said before, it seems watered down. It's hard to really offer enlightenment when I don't even know which episode you caught. I know catching any of them out of order makes it seem rather awkward, odd or mediocre since you're missing details established beforehand. The characters are actually well layered in personality as is the plot. I refuse to really waste my time watching anything anime on American television, so I really have no way of offering you anything more than "see it subbed from the beginning." If this is mediocre anime, I certainly hate to see what the future has to offer.

It was the ep just before "Fullmetal vs. Fire". The ep about red water and the dog using that kerosene lamp looking device filled with red water and droping a red crystal in it gave him alchemic abilities.

I know it's not really worth looking at dubbed stuff on TV, but it was on and that the channel the TV happened to be on.

Ah! That's actually the one ep I hate. I can see why you thought what you did then. x.x;; I skipped to the end of that episode... even when subbed. I concur with your opinion of the episode at the very least. ::twitch:: It's really possibly the worst episode in the series to try to make a first impression on someone with. I certainly hope the opportunity to see the series from the beginning does present itself to you again. I kinda thought there would be things about the plot you'd especially enjoy actually...
