Molly Ivins died today of breast cancer.  She was a a hilariously sharp Texan who wrote columns and  books about Texans, politics, and especially George W (she's the one who started caling him "Shrub").  A female version of Jon Stewart, sort of.  I especially enjoyed "Bushwhacked."  And, she's a fellow Smithie too, not that I'm biased or anything.

today i got to hear a re-broadcast of her speaking in the cities several years back. she was f-ing hilarious. i love her. in that ann richards kind of way.
