Happy Anniversary!
We got a Myers Lemon tree for our anniversary - it smells wonderful - great air freshener! It is covered with these flowers - needs to stay inside for now - outside when it warms up. Spring is coming!

Batik quilt
So R gave me a roll of batik greens (2 1/2" X LOF) for Christmas last year. I started working on it during Christmas break. Notice the temporary design wall - my 8-shaft loom.

More projects
During winter break I try to get at least a few things started and/or finished. I had put this on my loom awhile back - will be 4 kitchen towels. I am 3/4 through the first towel - so go me!

My break is almost over and I have finished piecing R's top! I had (and still have) way too many triangles left so I added an extra border.

Stuff
So I haven't posted in like a zillion years. I have this grad school thing going on and no free time to do the fun stuff. Not to worry - at the end of this semester I will be 1/2 way there. Look what else I did!
I also made some pillows and cushion cover for the deacon's bench that sits under picture window. I try to change with the seasons. I think it looks a little like the sea (bench cover has sparkles in it.) And I like the texture combo of the 2 different fabrics in the pillows. Star top is done!
R and I went to Lancaster quilt show this year - and we took a class. She finished her top but I didn't. But - good news - it 's now pieced and ready for quilting. I put a hoop in it thinking that maybe I would try to add some hand embroidery accents - so that white circle in the center is the hoop and not part of the design. And included some ( Read more... )
