Today I spent a couple of hours (well that could be an exaggaration) baking and putting together a three layer cake, put it in the oven, the timer went off. I feel your pain. ;-) I have done that more times than I care to admit. Also the reverse, where I come in yawning in the morning and find the oven is still on from the previous night.

How did it turn out? I used the tinfoil hat idea on some lemon squares once under the same circumstances and they turned out the best they ever had!

Cake turned out OK except a little crustier at the edges but didn't fall, which is what I was scared of! Had a piece last night and it was g-o-o-d!!!
