I did not expect this story to flow as well as it did. I was at work yesterday, I had already written the Vastra/Jenny piece over lunch, and I was back working at the lab bench muttering, "Fusion, wtf am I going to write a fusion about?!"
Now I have to reply to people, and tonight I have to crosspost. But it's finished! Thanks for all your help during this whole thing. Believe me when I say, I appreciate it. :)
Oh, well done! On this and the blackout, both. I haven't managed to comment on them all, but I think I've read them all at least. For this to make sense, I had to go read a transcription of House of the Dead (a rather bad one, done by a French person). I guess that's more or less official, then, that Jack finally said Those Words? I know, I know, nothing's really canon but the shows themselves... Still, that - and this - were rather comforting.
:D I'm glad you've enjoyed them. I think you can get HotD on Youtube if you search. That's how I heard the audio plays. I figure, if it's on the BBC starring the actual cast, it's canon.
Wow I loved that. I really love the ideas in it. Gruesome eye bits, but clever. I really enjoyed House of the Dead, and I think this is a great coda to it, it is horrid to think Ianto went into Hell at the end of that.
I had to look up the myth of Orpheus as I have seen the Opera but couldn't remember. I love how Ianto uses the tie to overcome the looking temptation.
Really nice end there, revisiting the end of the play, and with the brilliant pun.
*wipes away tears* Jack really is willing to go to any lengths to save Ianto, and all that courage and determination earns him his reward. I hope they have a happy life together. after all they've been through it's the least they deserve.

As far as I'm concerned, they totally do. :)
