Snagged, converted, tidied up, sent to Kindle. All while listening to lovely, lovely Abney Part and The Cog is Dead. Steampunk for the win. It's a good day. Thank you for sharing and not making us wait.
:) Hope you like it. I'll be posting to AO3 tonight, which would do the conversion for you. Dunno if that helps for future stories or not, but just fyi.
Yes, I do snag from AO3 when available. It shortens the entire process. FanFiction.net has an app that snags things for you, too. I like that one. I used to copy and past every page of a fic I liked. Took forever if it was a long fic, and some were really, really long. So glad new things came along and I actually found them. :) I love my Kindle Reader. I can read anywhere and pet the cat with one hand at the same time. It's not heavy like a book, either. Holding books makes my hands hurt (chronic debilitating illness) and Gertrude the cat likes to put her butt on them if I prop them somewhere. Kindle for the win. Best money I ever spent. Literally.
Cool. My mother-in-law has one that her kids bought her. It was nicer than I'd expected. I don't usually like the iPad/iPhone/touchscreen type of devices because I can't work them. Something about the interface. But the Kindles seem nice and light, and I could actually use it. So.
Hm... personally, I think you could have fit 2 or 3 more twists in this last chapter...
LOVED it. So let's see... some favorite parts, in no particular order: - the original founding of TW was horrible. Yay for the fix-it. - Ianto getting dumped on re the UNIT meeting. What I loved was that Jack changed the wake-up time so he'd be gone, and Ianto wouldn't have time to react - the TW pamphlets *grin* (which of course, turned out to be key) - Saxon cultists. - Jack drooling over the engine - Ianto being rubbish at time travel - the supposedly cryptic blue box references - oh, you know the Doctor? - Ianto's attempts to hook up Jenny and Vastra. - his knowledge of Jack, and what he has waiting for him. This Jack still believed he'd been left behind by accident. He thought they missed him, and wanted him back Gah

:) Thanks. I figured that given the rest of what we know, TW London probably started out just as badly as the other two sites. (And who knows what's up with TW4.)
the TW pamphlets *grin* (which of course, turned out to be key)
I have a deep and abiding love for helpful pamphlets made because someone somewhere did something they shouldn't have. Do not ask me why.

I think we all believe we'd be really good in the situations we see. The Doctor shows up, oh yeah, we'd all be time travel experts. And no.
Jenny's backstory. Loved that she was working with Strax before knowing Vastra - their interaction was marvelous.
Hee. Obviously this one was definitely off the rails with the canon, but I loved writing them together. Vastra is clearly the boss of the gang on the show, so it was fun letting her two lieutenants play off each other without that influence.
Yes. I got to read it before it disappeared. Weird... Oh, and I'm looking forward to catching up with all the others you've been posting, but RL is in crisis mode right now. (I need to finish a book I'm writing within 2 weeks to make a trade show deadline.) So don't be surprised to get comments next month :)
Well, hell, just did what I wanted to do and didn't do much. I've decided you are this big old cherry red lifesaver what makes it okay in my world that torchwood existed and that the story didn't exactly play out to meet my happy ending heart. I love your story very very much and if you were startled by that loud gruffaw over Jeremy Clarkson having a massive erection...well, so be it. Love your story love your story love your story. And your Ianto and Jack and alternate characters. Thank you sweetpea--cos it's good.
yes I too have been suffering disappearing comments. tells me to expand etc and then tells me I didn't do the job. I can't find the comment that mu friend sent with the fix...phooey!
Scaled down and better purposed. Gave me chills. So glad to see that Lisa and "Gareth" made it. A few things were the same, obviously (Saxon). So glad that you saved *spoilers* ! Anyhow. Thanks. This should be the next Torchwood special. I don't know if it would make six television episodes, but it could make 4 or 5 easily. Anywho - that's what I'd do. :)
Yay! I'm so glad you liked it. (And glad you came here. Hi!) Gareth was Adeola's ill-fated boyfriend who died when the Cybermen invaded, so the perhaps not-well-established bit there was to say Adeola is also alive and well. Everybody lives, hooray. :)
While I'm flattered at the idea of making it a special, I'm thinking the two-hour movie size would be perfect.
