In my Web Search Optimization class, a student says, "We are #3 in organic search on our keyword. We added PayPerClick for a week and got 3 people signing up. We removed PayPerClick and got 1 person signing up in a week

That sample size is not statistically significant, both due to the short time duration and the lack of knowledge of "normal" traffic.
