Just saw the State of the Union address by President Obama.
Why is it every time my president gives a big speech like this, I start tearbending and feel filled with hope?  Am I channeling Katara or something?

I thought it was pretty awesome, especially when he talked about education. c:

Until today I learned from my teacher that our school system would lose around 100 million dollars in funding, and over 300 teachers would lose their jobs, in our county alone. >:

I know that's not his fault and stuff, but I want to see something happening. Like Obama cutting down on other stuff to pave the way for education, his policies are good and stuff, but our school system is GOOD, we just need money for new textbooks and our teachers to stay. I understand that it was only yesterday, and maybe I'm cynical, but I just want something to /happen/ instead of promises.

But the bipartisan stuff was pretty neat, along with the talks about oil replacements.
