Second Is The Best, Part 1

Six had an itch, but it wasn’t one he could scratch.  If he acted on it by himself, he just made things worse.  He knew.  He’d tried it in the past and he’d only succeeded in making himself almost dry hump Van Kleiss during their next experimentation session.  Thankfully, reason had won out and he had somehow managed to force himself to , well, NOT do that, but he had come precariously close, closer than he’d like to admit.  He certainly didn’t want to come that close to it again.  He’d best head to his room and wait for Van Kleiss to come to him.  He froze and pressed himself against the wall at the sound of claws and hooves on the broken floor in the next hallway over.

“Mother’s been through here.  I can smell his pheromones.  He should be in a right horny mood by the time the Master is ready for him.  He might even jump him.  Can you imagine?  No one else can say that about their mother.  I guess we’re just lucky to have a needy, hot and ready human bitch for a brood mother,”

There was a series of breathy chuffs that Six would recognize anywhere as E.V.O. laughter, and not just any E.V.O.’s laughter, it was the laughter of three of his children.

“Quiet! He might hear you!  Biowulf will be mad you insulted his charge and then we’ll all be in trouble.  Besides, you shouldn’t pick on Mother.  He’s weaker than us, that isn’t his fault.  It goes with being human,”  A female avian voice hissed.

Six bit his lower lip sharply as his heart sank.  Is that how his children really saw him?

The male voice spoke up again.

“Ohh, standing up for Mommy?  You want him to love you more?  He loves his first weak little human son the best.  You don’t stand a chance.  He’ll always love Abby more than you and there’s nothing you can do about it,”

A deep throated growl reverberated around the halls.  There was an inhuman yelp of surprised pain around the corner and Six’s heart was in his throat for a moment.  He knew that voice.  He knew all their voices.  His brain screamed Mason! for a moment before he remembered that that wasn’t what his son answered to anymore.  No, no, now he was Bison, and he looked more like a Wildebeest than the stocky human infant he had been born as and had been for all of ten days until it was obvious he was healthy.  Then, Van Kleiss had done what he did to all of them.  Six hugged himself and listened.

“Insolent whelp!  Your mother has made many sacrifices to ensure you were born and continue to live.  You will show him respect.  I’ll tell you something else, pups, compared to your mother, you’re all a disgrace in terms of combat.  None of you have ever bested me in a spar...but your mother has.  You spoiled pups best keep that in mind and keep your mouths shut about things you don’t understand or don’t want to,”

He always had a way with words.  Direct, concise...commanding.  At times, it was a little arousing.

Six sighed, a light flush of heat blossoming on his cheeks..as well as somewhere he’d rather it didn’t.  He swallowed, trying to banish the redness away.  It was those damn hormones.  They made his body respond to everything.  He was glad Minerva wasn’t here to see this.  He’d sent her off to train with One months ago,  The last thing he wanted was for his little girl to see her mother all hot and bothered...in heat, he realized.  It was humiliating.

Oddly, he was kind of hoping that Van Kleiss would hurry up and get the next round of experiments ready.  This was the longest he’d been between pregnancies and he was starting to become aware of all the changes that his body been through courtesy of the nanites in his body and the tinkering encouragement of Van Kleiss.  Things felt different and he was definitely...experiencing some massive hormonal fluctuation he could do without...at least in public.

He heard Biowulf’s signature huff.  The sound brought him back to the moment at hand.

“Now, get back to your training.  I expect you to perform at your lineage’s potential,” Biowulf growled and Six heard several pairs of legs scamper off, one whimpering more than the others.

Six remained frozen in place until the sounds of the group’s movement faded into the distance.  Slowly, he began to walk back to his room, his mind itching with questions while his body demanded attention.

His mind wandered somewhere familiar as he pressed on.

Biowulf.

The E.V.O. had stood up for him.  It wasn’t the first time, either.  Over the years, out of all of Van Kleiss’ servants, Biowulf had almost been compassionate...no...he had been.  He’d chosen the position of Six’s escort and guard when he first came to Abysus.  Van Kleiss had said that the lupine actually wanted to do it, it just helped that the E.V.O. was unwaveringly loyal to Van Kleiss and thus, was the only one the lord of Abysus trusted with his latest acquisition.  He remembered how Biowulf had made attempts to comfort him.  He’d thought it was the dog in the E.V.O....pressing up against him, resting his head on his leg or shoulder...a pet looking for attention...and he’d shoved the lupine away.  In retrospect, it had not been the most thoughtful thing to do.  Still...he’d been missing Knight, had his freedom taken away.  His reaction was reasonable.  That did not mean that he wasn’t regretting it a little at this exact moment in time.  Of all the E.V.O.s that he had come across, the only one he trusted near him was Biowulf.  He’d at least treated him like an equal instead of a curiosity or a potential conquest.  He’d taken “no, I need space” as an answer.

Six never thought he would regret pushing the E.V.O. away, but he was starting to now, though he was fairly certain it was the hormones...but did that really matter?  He really missed what he had with Knight, and it had been years since he’d been intimate with anyone.  Van Kleiss didn’t count.  He just got Six riled up so he would shift into a receptive state before giving him a series of large needled injections of the necessary genetic material and then everything would be over.

Six wanted something more.  He wanted to have a warm body pressed against his, touching him in secret places and he wanted to return the favor.  He hadn’t been close to anyone since Knight and he wanted, needed, physically craved that contact.  Six thought about those claws, imagined them running over his stomach, eliciting sighs and excited gasps.  Suddenly, Six found his pants didn’t fit quite right and he took a few deep breaths and went over a few relaxation exercises.

Damn body was getting even more worked up than usual.  Six swallowed and sped up, trying to get his room before he had any more...episodes.  Of course, to get to his room, he had to pass Biowulf’s.  Of course.  It couldn’t be easy.  He tried to walk by, but something stopped him.  He thought about earlier.  The E.V.O. had stood up for him...again...and he wanted to ask him a few things.  He’d knock, then.  If there wasn’t an answer, he would press on to his own room.  That was that.  Biowulf was probably still training the others.  Still....

He knocked on the door.

There was a low growl and a heavy breath from inside.

“Six?  What is it?  Do you need anything?”

Six gasped.  Of course, he would be able to smell him, especially now.

“I just wanted to talk to someone...someone who I know will listen.  There’s something I want to ask you,”

Another deep breath through a metal air filter came from the other side of the door.

“Of course.  You are always welcome.  Come in,”

Six took a deep breath and slipped inside, closing the door behind him.
