I think the stupidest line I've heard in Dead Space 2 thus far (and there's some stiff competition) is a scientist saying, with a completely straight face, that only "smart people" will be able to withstand the Marker implanting information into their skulls ( Read more... )

Well, obviously, you're just not one of those special "smart people" and she felt it best to use small, vague words so your feeble, non-smart brain might have a chance of understanding what she meant.

That's how you know she's smart, actually! All smart people can immediately identify non-smart people.

If that woman was in my old academic communication class, she would have been torn to pieces for using such non-specific language. Granted, she was torn to pieces in the game anyway literally, but I don't think it was as punishment for quackery.

Hmm. That would be a pretty neat sentence for writers who perpetuate stereotypes like "intelligence is a character trait that comes only in one form". Torn to pieces by alien-zombies. I shall put it on my list of things to enforce when I rule the world.
