A visit to the emergency room tonight, and a thin slice out of several people's lives all in one room. A translator was helping a doctor next to us communicate with the Spanish-speaking parents of a little boy with fever and seizures. A 91-year-old woman was wheeled into the slot on the other side of us, expelled from a skilled nursing facility
