oh cool!

So, how does that work for you and fossarian, signing up under another name? I mean, as far as being in mutual communication with the mods? I am trying to get a friend to join up, and we've been breaking the story together, and while she's writing to keep the same tone, it's a very mutual effort in what the story is about, down to the nitty gritty.

How does it work for you co-writing or whatever arrangement you have? I never quite understood that. Does one person take one viewpoint? Does one do a first draft and the other rewrite? Co-writing is so far beyond my ken, I don't even know what questions to ask!

Well, Foss and I have our own comm/username that we use for our collaborative efforts, so we signed up with that, along with an email address we both check.

As for our actual process, we had no idea how it would work at first, either, but I think it's terribly individual. We happen to work well with a system where one person writes until they get stumped, or reach the end of a section or whatever, and then the other person takes over; we've also discussed writing where each of us handles a particular character's POV exclusively. Since we serve as alphas and betas for one another, the revision process is usually pretty painless; but a lot of that has to do with trust, and the fact that we're both very laid-back when it comes to the other making changes. Really, you just have to find your own system and run with it!

I signed up. I'm very wary about it, but I want the writing accountability, just hope I come up with something that doesn't blow.
