I know, I know, I haven't been around much lately... RL has been mad busy, and I've been avoiding fic a little bit so as not to distract myself from other important writing deadlines that are coming up, official or set by yours truly! I hope all you flisties are well. <3

I know this has happened to other people and they have reported it to the posting site AO3/Dreamwidth/ LJ as well as to their flists so general outrage can ensue! Really, just because we are posting our work here and it is fanfiction doesn't mean it is ok for people to pass it off as their own.

Is it role-play journal? I think your concerns are valid, though. If this person is gonna 'borrow' for mere role-play, they'll 'borrow' for their supposed writing too. Weird.

That sucks! And there are things you can do to address it i think there was a livejournal community that helped combat plagiarism? If nothing else putting it out there so people can see is a good thing. Maybe take a screencap of the paragraph in your fic, and the one from dashboardlite to show them side by side - then you could send both to the mods/admin?

Plagiarizing is a shitty thing to do, and people should be called out on it. Good luck!

Most Fanfic communities fight against plagiarism. Like suggested there should be LJ communities that have been created for this purpose. But in reality there isn't much more that can be done other then contacting the person, letting your flist know, and reporting it to the plagiarism community.

Sorry someone has done this to you. There are jerks in the world that can't think for themselves.
