It seems a great many of the residents have turned into children... The surprising thing is that many of them seem to retain their childhood memories, as if they were brought here as children, but with their own memories. They don't recognize other residents who they knew before, or realize that they've changed. But it's only affected some. I

Things similar to this have happened. There was a time when everyone turned into animals when they shared physical contact with others, or in cases of extreme fatigue. But everyone still kept their memories during that time.
