No your tone is fine. In charge Faith being all adult and exasperated. Young snarky Slayers and a chinless wonder Watcher - it's all good. And Xander turning up out of the blue was the cherry on top.
Hope you are on the road to recovery hon, even if the meds still have a hold of you.
Xander's arrival is waaaaaay too deus ex machina for my liking, but this part was sitting on my 'puter for days without anything even slightly more credible coming to mind. That'll still hopefully be fine, though, as I do have an explanation as to exactly how he showed up when he did that is sort of consistent with the rules of the b-verse. Ish :)
I am still pretty zonked at the moment. Mebbee if I'd taken some antibiotics I'd be a bit better by now but they keep telling people to avoid them if what they have is viral rather than bacterial (or some such blather, I didn't really listen). So I've basically been muddling through on decongestant, aspirin and lots of honey and lemon. It's starting to have its effect now, though, I think.
Enjoyed this. The tone felt okay to me. Initially I was thinking flash back and then we had Xander's zeppo like entrance.
It did feel like Faith not quite trusting her instincts or fighting against them and not really believing she was the right person to be in charge and the adult in the situation. Questioning her own decision making and going into a frozen decision loop until she throws up her hands and goes back to plan 1, impetuous insanity.
Of course it also illustrates that she still has a way to go in terms of leadership.
I'm hoping to basically show Faith learning to be a leader. That's the general idea, anyway. So she starts off really unsure, messes up a lot along the way and eventually winds up becoming a good boss to her team. All of this is a kind of mirror to the main plot, which we will get to progressively :)
