Hello, with referencesmr_kurtAugust 25 2004, 17:26:10 UTC
My very dear friend rowanf has suggested that I say hello and attempt to get added to your friends list, as we're the sort of people she likes and vice versa. She also mentioned she's been trying to get you to come to English Country Dance with us. You should! We're a pretty easygoing bunch, and a lot of fun though I say so who shouldn't.
Anyway, I haven't met you in real life, as of yet, but no doubt I will at some point. Hello!
I've already commented on other posts and am already on your Friends list, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to chime in here as well, in response to your invitation. Thanks for the dinner company and movie with the family last night; I had a great time.
I didn't realize you were buds with Rowan; she's another of my favorite people on the planet.
And I saw Balkan Singing on your list of likes. Have you been to a Kitka concert? One of my all-time faves is Polegnala E Todora on Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares' eponymous CD.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing you again soon. Thanks for the chat today.

Hi Dan,
I haven't actually ever seen Kitka, although of course I've heard of them. I performed Balkan singing in two groups back in Philly and Boston. Going back to such activities, like folk dancing which I performed also when I was younger, often brings up wistfulness, loss, sadness, frustration, for me now. A big part of me thinks I'm the expert and wants to *do it*, not sit in the audience! (sigh...)
I don't know you so much as know *of* you -- as another Santa Cruz person I've seen your website before and some of your husband's newsgroup postings and so on -- so when I saw your comment in firecat's journal I was curious and clicked your name.

You may remember me; I've been to support group with you a few times. Nice to find you here.
I don't post much, and I don't read as often as I'd like, but I'm always open to more friends, and more contact with friends. So please add me to your friends.
