I've discovered the joy of mat cutters. With almost no measuring, I can make a nice little bevel frame--and, call me crazy, but almost anything I put in there looks ten times better than if it were just lying around my messy apartment. I'm convinced that I can slap a nice mat over some crumpled gum wrappers and it would actually look like art. And ( Read more... )

Frank Zappa has a whole rant in his autobiography about how Art is all about The Frame, in that The Frame's function is to identify whatever it's placed around (even a piece of trash) as Art. So you see? Great minds think alike. :-)
