So I am super excited about this -- to celebrate the launch of Tongues of Serpents tomorrow, I have teamed up with the awesome Subterranean Press to run a fanart contest where I will write stories to go with the winning entries, and it all goes into a super-spiffy limited edition chapbook to support the OTW! \o/ Here is the official announcement ( Read more... )

the same maturity level as the books >> Just to clarify further, what restrictions does this / do you impose on the content of the art? (I'm thinking particular in terms of nudity, sexual content, and violence/gore content.) Not that I have any specific ideas atm, I'm just curious for ~brainstorming purposes~ to know where hard lines should be drawn, if anyplace. :)

There aren't any! The books are adult and have some pretty grim battle scenes and sexual situations, so I don't want to impose constraints.

I mean, if someone sends me an NC-17 piece of dragon-human porn art, it will have to be a work of staggering genius or my reaction as a judge will be LOL NO, but I don't feel like there's anything I would rule out on principle. *g*

Well, now someone has to... (Isn't there a rule about this? I forget the number. Or does it not count in this case because it's physical books not on the internetz? ; ) )

Well, if dragon breeding were even a bit more like breeding (especially rare and high value) animals is today, then this wouldn't even be at all out there, so... (I'll only say Elephant prostaste massages, and yes there's video on youtube. For Orcas there's the famous pic that's googleable. And DON'T ask me how I know this. (It involves Trek related discussions about alien physiology if you really want to know. AKA- Imagine crazy junk for Spock))

Except that unlike elephants and orcas, the dragons can turn around, and in a cultured British accent say something along the lines of "WTF are you doing with your hand up there?"

Yeah, I was going to add a line about dragons being sentient beings and thus things being a bit different ( ... )
