I still remember the first time I saw it. A friend and I were hanging at the mall (yes, they had malls back then...), and we were looking for a movie to see. I saw the marquee for Blade Runner and pointed it out. Neither Paul or I ever heard anything about it, but I said, "What the heck...let's see it...it has that Han Solo guy in it".
When I walked out of the theatre, I was blown-away. I've owned the movie ever since (in a variety of formats...)
When I saw the Director's Cut in a cinema in Tokyo in the 90's, it still had that haunting magic for me (perhaps more so, since it looked much the same outside when I went outside after the movie was over).
