I'm in love with The Onion too. I was totally thrilled to find a paper copy on a recent trip. Alas, my town does not print the paper copy locally. Sad. But I have a feed of their latest news stories linked to my work email so I can be entertained while muddling through the tedium of the day :)

oh, it's a national treasure. There was a period of time last year, I think, when they claimed to be bought out by China. It may have been the best gimmick ever. For like a week, all the stories where written as glowingly positive propaganda. it was so, so good.

My boyfriend told me about this! I wasn't as aware of The Onion back then so I didn't have the pleasure of experiencing this. Sounded epic though.
