Aren't they just outdoing themselves every blessed series?!
So. Excited.

We've gone back to watch the show from the first episode (of the rebooted show, not the fifty years ago show). I tried very hard, but I didn't love Nine. The show didn't really start feeling like the Who we knew until David :) I really, really, REALLY adore him as Ten. And he and Catherine are perfect.

I know it's insane, and I was convinced that David was The doctor, but it's... Well. I have intense admiration for David and his talent and his fine, skinny arse beyond DW, and I want to see him in all the things! But I can't imagine Matt Smith in another role... It's like he was gestated in quirky juice inside a lab for the sole purpose of playing 11. He's SUCH an exact fit for the role. I never in my wildest dreams expected that I'd feel that way.

I was heartbroken when David left, and sobbed my way through the last episode he was in - I actually shouted 'I'm not gonna like you!' at Eleven when he first appeared.

But Matt has gone above and beyond what I expected, and completely made the role his own. He's spectacular.

He's a nice bloke, by all accounts. He was back in Northampton over Christmas, and went to his local with his Granddad, which is apparently their Christmas tradition. My colleague was there, and when Matt walked in, a bloke said, 'Oi, is this thing you're in at Christmas any good, then?' Matt said 'I'd like to think so, yeah.' And that was the only mention made, and he was allowed to sit and have his pint in peace.

He also visited one of my lovely kids from work, Alfe, a couple of Christmases ago. Just look at this awesomeness. We're desperately trying to get him to come and visit the wards on a visit home.

That's just a preview for the SECOND part of season seven. The first part has more Ponds and is just an AMAZING set up for the second part, and will also utterly rip your heart to pieces, omg!

And there are four words that I MUST say to you to make up for the ripping your heart out part:

Dinosaurs. On. A. Spaceship.

Lol, I should have specified part 2, but YES! Dinosaurs. ONASPACESHIP!!!!

Guh.

The whole first half of that season was fantastic and wrenching and the WEEPING CHERUBS and no, no, no, no, no, it's all broken and gone, and they're names are on the headstone and guh.

Then we forced our moping selves to watch the new Christmas special with Clara and the potato guy and the doctor and lizard lady and wife, and everything got a little better :)

MARCH!
We get the second half of series seven at bbc America at the end of MARCH!
