So, I got back from Star Trek just now, seeing it after an 11 hour Monday shift at work....

I just got back from seeing the movie myself. I never watched much of TOS, so I know little of the original backstory. Although, I was highly amused at the whole "explain why this is different" in the middle of the movie. That and Spock & Uhura making out on the transporter pad.
