1. bad romance - kyuhyun/victoria
You and me could write a bad romance.
*
It normally starts with an innocent comment, when they're the only ones in the room and there's no sign of anyone entering.
"Those shorts flatter your legs."
And it usually (because sometimes it just didn't) ended in her pressed against the wall, his right leg nestled between both of hers, his lips against hers, or perhaps, sometimes, her neck. His hands would run over her body, fumbling slightly out of nervousness or excitement, she wasn't sure which. His breathing would become slightly labored as he sucked gently against her neck, getting excited at the little gasps and whimpers that escaped her lips and the way she gripped his shoulders for what seemed like dear life.
And then he would try and slip his tongue into her mouth, and usually would succeed, because she just couldn't resist him. His hands would slide slowly up the sides of her body, up her arms to her wrists, which he would pin to the wall as his tongue explored the inside of her mouth, which by the day was becoming more and more familiar.
And then something would change, and she'd suddenly have the upper hand; she was no longer submissive to his actions, but instead took all control. She entangled her tongue with his, slid her wrists from his grip and slid her delicate hands all over his body, smirking into the kiss as he gasps and squirms against her.
And then the door would open, and they'd throw themselves away from each other in a heartbeat. Heechul, or Donghae, sometimes Amber or Krystal, would look at them with raised brows and small smirks, and he would ask them, "What?"
And Heechul, or Donghae, sometimes Amber or Krystal, would just shake their head and turn around, right back out the door, shutting it behind them.
And then the two would look over at each other and smirk.
2. telephone - kyuhyun/zhou mi
Sorry I cannot hear you, I'm kinda busy.
*
"Just shut it off."
Zhou Mi looks up from his phone over at his companion, who is currently downing his third White Russian. He looks back to his phone, then back up at Kyuhyun.
"But--"
"No, really," Kyuhyun says. He's tipsy, Zhou Mi can tell -- his eyes are glassy, and he's leaning against the table for support. However, he seems to be in control of his actions and his thought process is in order, so it's not like Zhou Mi can really complain. "Turn that shit off and come dance with me."
Zhou Mi blinks a few times; dance? Kyuhyun? "Are you sick?" Zhou Mi laughs, taking a sip of his strawberry daiquiri.
"NO, I WANT TO DANCE," Kyuhyun says a little too loudly, a laugh pinned on to the end of the sentence. Maybe Zhou Mi was wrong; maybe his mind is too far off right now. "Now say goodbye to your boyfriend, shut off your phone, and come dance with me. I am sick of him trying to keep tabs on you at all times. You are not five, you're twenty five."
Zhou Mi looks back at his phone and bites his lip; Kyuhyun groans and reaches over, snatching the device out of the older man's hands. "Hey!"
"Nope," Kyuhyun says, holding down the power button. "I am done with this bullshit. Now you are going to come out on that dance floor and dance with me, understood?"
Zhou Mi sighs and stands up, a smile on his face. "Okay," He says. Kyuhyun grins and holds out his hand, bringing Zhou Mi out to the dance floor.
Zhou Mi didn't look at his phone for the rest of the night.
3. for good - hangeng/heechul
It well may be that we will never meet again in this lifetime,
So let me say before we part; so much of me is made of what I learned from you.
You'll be with me like a hand print on my heart.
*
Kim Heechul is a force to be reckoned with on most occasions. Headstrong, stubborn, obstinate. Just a few words that are often used to describe him by his friends, family, coworkers.
But today is different.
He stands at Gate 6C at Incheon Airport with his companion, who has numerous bags in hand and on his shoulders. They stare at each other longingly, the two obviously wanting to drop everything and embrace one another, but they both know that's not possible.
"You don't have to go," Heechul says, eyes watering and voice shaking, but still remaining his normal stubborn self and refusing to cry. "You can stay. Things can change." He swallows hard. "I'll change."
"It's not you, Heenim," Han Geng says, biting his bottom lip. "It's everything. I just...can't do it anymore."
Heechul sighs, nods. He understands.
After a few moments of silence, "Come with me," Han Geng says.
Heechul is taken aback, his heart flutters and his eyes widen. But soon he deflates. "I can't," He says. "I have things here. Responsibilities." He sighs, scuffs his feet. "I can't just up and leave like you."
Han Geng sighs and nods; he, too, understands. "I see," He says, adjusting the bags on his shoulders. He places everything on the ground and holds open his arms, obviously asking for a hug.
Heechul shakes his head. "I'm sorry," He says. "It just...would make it seem real, that I'm never going to see you again."
"You'll see me again--"
"No, I won't," Heechul says, shaking his head. "You know that as well as I do."
After a moment, Han Geng nods and picks up his bags once more. His flight is called, a direct flight to Beijing. He sighs heavily, heavier than all the other sighs he's sighed within the last five minutes.
"...I'm sorry," He says, reaching out and taking Heechul's hand. "I love you."
"No, you don't," Heechul challenges. "Or else you wouldn't be leaving."
Han Geng smiles slightly, but his eyes betray the curve of his lips. "Well, I do, whether you believe it or not."
"Okay," Heechul says, the tears finally flowing down his cheeks as his voice cracks. He's not in the mood to fight, anyway. "I love you too."
Han Geng lets go of Heechul's hand, then adjusts his bags before walking off. Heechul walks over to the window and watches the plane until it takes off.
4. against the current - unrequited kyuhyun/zhou mi, kyuhyun/victoria
I can't deny, you've hooked me so deep again.
With your smart and witty lines, you have soiled my disguise.
Then the waves, oh the waves, they come crashing down,
When I see the look in your eyes when you're watching her walk by.
*
Zhou Mi picks furtively at his harvest salad, pushing around the blue cheese crumbles and the sunflowers seeds, the balsamic vinaigrette dressing stinging his nose; he can feel a pair of eyes on him, and he's trying to ignore it.
"That," Kyuhyun starts, sitting across from him. "Looks repulsive."
"It's actually quite good," Zhou Mi says, taking a small bite and not looking up from the leafy greens that stare him down. "You should try it sometime."
Kyuhyun snorts. "No thanks," He says, taking a bite out of his chicken sandwich. "I'll stick to my barbecue chicken."
"That may be why you're so pudgy, Kui Xian~" Zhou Mi sings, finally looking up from his meal and pointing his fork at Kyuhyun. Kyuhyun rolls his eyes, until something catches his attention. He smirks, and adjusts his body to face whatever -- or whoever -- caught his eye.
Zhou Mi turns around and looks, then groans inwardly. Victoria, the object of Kyuhyun's desires.
"You know," Zhou Mi starts, turning back to his salad. "I have no idea what you see in her. She's not that pretty." Yes she was, he was just bitter. "Nor is she that talented."
Kyuhyun doesn't answer; he's staring off at Victoria with glassy eyes and a dopey grin on his face. "She's so..."
"Gross?" Zhou Mi offers.
"Amazing." Kyuhyun sighs, resting his chin in the palm of his left hand as he watches her eat some rice.
"You're a creep," Zhou Mi snips, pushing away his salad. The turmoil in his stomach is affecting his appetite. He looks back over to Victoria, who looks up at Kyuhyun and waves shyly. Zhou Mi has to suppress his urge to vomit. "Do you need me to leave?"
"No," Kyuhyun says dreamily. "I'll go." He stands up, grabs his food and bag, and migrates over to the table Victoria is sitting at.
Zhou Mi sighs, and leans his head against the table. Maybe it's time he gave up on this one.
5. the ocean - henry/sungmin
You come over unannounced, silence broken by your voice in the dark.
I need you here tonight just like the ocean needs the waves.
*
Taiwan is a strange land, Sungmin thinks.
He watches out the window in the living room as the rain pours down onto the city. He's watching two particular people, who are huddled under an umbrella as they walk side-by-side, a little too close to be "just friends." Kyuhyun and Zhou Mi, the inseparable duo, were going out for a little shopping before their fanmeet later that night.
Sungmin sighs; he's jealous, he'll admit it to himself. But no one else. Not that he's jealous of one or the other, but he's jealous of both of them; they have someone else to fill the void in their hearts, to make them feel not as alone.
He doesn't have that.
"Hyung?"
Sungmin turns around; Henry stands in the hallway, staring at him with a confused look on his face. "Are you alright, hyung?"
Sungmin smiles sadly. "Of course, Henry," He says, moving towards the younger man. "Why wouldn't I be?"
"You've been standing at that window for an hour now," Henry replies, looking at the floor and shoving his hands in his pockets nonchalantly. He's obviously nervous, but Sungmin can't pin exactly why. "And you do it every day. So I just...wanted to make sure you were alright."
Sungmin stares at Henry for a moment as something clicks in the back of his mind. He leans forward and wraps his arms around Henry, who reciprocates the movement nervously, yet with confidence.
Sungmin smiles as he buries his head into Henry's shoulder. "Yes, Henry," He says. "Now I'm okay."
