Reading a post made by Tanurai, it seems that Sheffield Council are opposed to the closing of the Sheffield Station footbridge to those without tickets, and are collecting opinions from the public on this.  Now, I use the bridge every day, and it won't exactly affect me(aside from general irritation), as daily commuting means I've got a season ( Read more... )

What about people wanting to get to the tram stop?
Or from the tram to the ticket office?

I'm not sure what the plan is. When they were trialing it, they were handing out platform tickets, which led to large queues. It doesn't seem realistic to do this in the long term though, as the reason the bridge is being closed is to protect revenue, and handing out platform tickets would undermine this.

Already put in my tuppence against it a few weeks ago.

Most compelling argument against is that it cuts off a public thoroughfare between Park Hill and the city centre.
