This is Simon's dance version of American Idol, right? I saw Ads, but it just didn't appeal to me. Of course, I'm probably one of the few folks who has never seen American Idol. I'm not much a fan of reality-competition shows... although I have guilty little pleasures for Next Top Model and Project Runway. My inner fashionista can't get enough!

It's pretty cool that your daughter does these competitions. Does she ever place, or is she more interested in it for the lessions with top trainers?

She is at an age where everyone places, and how they place determines more how the choreographer does rather than the children in some ways. But, my daughter loves hip-hop and won an award this year for Most Improved Dancer, as well as being placed in the class above her age group.
I think it all depends on the professional dancer training them. I watched one lady train them in ballet and she had no patience for anyone under twelve. I was thinking to myself, why are these classes so mixed in age anyway, but why would they get a teacher who is going to ignore half of the dancers? Sierra, positive that she is, says she got something out of the class.

Wednesday nights and Thursday nights on Fox. It is American Idol with dancing, but it is partner dancing, and they have to show they can adapt to multiple styles in order to continue on.
It is interesting and they are all great dancers, it is a shame to see some of them go home.
