So is anyone out there making really good progress?

I've managed to read 4 books and write 4 drafts of my proposal, so I guess. I also figured out a new way to use Post-its to organize myself. I write why the thing is useful for my writing and stick that on the front of a book. They look like this:

-political = distinction b/w friend/enemy
-ASEAN as depoliticization of region
-Aihwa Ong, citizenship

Then I just consult my notes. Works better than keeping it all in my head, plus I tend to organize spatially anyway (there's a governmentality pile, a development theory pile, and so on).

Gah, I wish. I was too nervous to even post my list as its own post. But here it is.

- Draft research proposal (10 pp single-spaced)
- Annotated bibliography (30 sources plus 5pp writeup)
- Literature Review (10 pp)

you asked in my journal, but I guess I'll just post a general reply here:

I've got about seven pages of one paper done and about 4 pages of another. The three other papers are much quicker things to write so I haven't touched them yet.

I'm feeling good about things- so far. I have alot of research done, I just have to write. But I did drop the idea of sending in a paper proposal to the journal- as perfect an issue it seems to be for me, I just haven't been able to think up a paper idea. I'm a little disapointed in myself as far as this goes, but I accept it.

It's really helped, because I feel accountable. After my doom-laden supervisor meeting tomorrow I'll write the first section, and if three get written before next weekend I'll be able to almost not feel guilty.

I think I am
my 15 page paper turned out to be 20 and it's done
now i'm working on paper number two. it's 4.5 pages so far and has to be 10-12
then paper 3... lots of thought, little writing is what my prof says. He wants no more than 5 pages, and i'm worried about keeping it under 5, it is a paper discussing what I would do with a client he presented.
