We had been planning to go to the State Fair yesterday, because Ana had never been and we thought that Alfie would like to see the animals. Then three days ago we found out that tonight Joe Biden was going to be at Meredith College, which is just a few blocks away from the Fair Grounds. Homesteading
After seven months of preparation, Arcturus and I now have two goats in our back yard. I'm still in a bit of shock over owning livestock. Hopefully, they'll pay for themselves fairly quickly, starting in a few months, when we're able to have fresh raw (aprox.) organic whole goat's milk every day, and be able to make our own yogurt, cheese and ice ( Read more... ) -

Last Thursday, Alfie learned to pull himself up to a standing position. Exciting right? We thought so, until he started to get frustrated that he couldn't do more. Computers are not the enemy.
I like rules for my games. Rules define how the game world works, and how characters interact with it. As such they help define a setting as much as its descriptive text. Many people like to categorize game text as "fluff" and "crunch" which I think belittles both description and rules in the process. I prefer to think of them as "meat" and " ( Read more... ) -
